Primary:  The primary task of the centre is to conduct pre-deployment training for the contingents and individuals who get deployed as military observers and staff officers prior to their deployment in various Peacekeeping missions as well as conduct Specialized Courses related to peacekeeping operations .BPOTC is also responsible to conduct various multinational peacekeeping exercises and seminars. Moreover, it is working towards achieving the COAS Command Guidance Objective Number 8, which aims to, "Enable qualitative and quantitative increment in Nepal's Contribution in UN peacekeeping Operations and ultimately develop this center as the “Center of Excellence."


  1. Provide Peacekeeping training assistance to National and International Peacekeeping institutions.
  2. Conduct evaluation and validation of Peacekeeping trainings at this center.
  3. Advice Nepali Army Directorate of Peacekeeping Operations (NA DPKO), Army Headquarters on Peacekeeping training affairs.

UNDPKO recognizes the PDT and UN Staff Officers Course Conducted in BPOTC

The United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations has recently verified and provided the Training Recognition to the Contingent Pre-deployment Training and United Nations Staffs Officers Course conducted by the BPOTC.

COAS's Speech

"There is no question that as UN peacekeeping continues to evolve, so will the training needs of UN peacekeepers. Hence, peacekeeping training should have a systematic approach in order to develop training standards, policies, guidance and best practices for the trainers. Only the outcome of such training can help to meet the mission requirements."
