S.N. 24 Command and Staff College Visited BPOTC

On 1st February 2018, students of S.No. 24 Army Command and Staff College (ACSC), conducted at Army Command and Staff College, Tokha, visited Birendra Peace Operations Training Center. Commandant of BPOTC, Col Nabin Silwal briefed the course about the training and administrative aspects of the Training Center. The student officers then observed demonstrations on Protection of Civilians and Check Point displayed by Shree Durga Buksh Battalion, an Infantry Battalion going to be deployed in UNMISS Mission, South Sudan and which is now undergoing for Pre-deployment training at BPOTC

This Educational visit was also attended by Chief Instructor of Army command and Staff College, Brigadier General Naresh Chandra Bhatta and Directing Staffs.

Speech on 50th anniversary

Sixty years ago, a small group of international military observers were dispatched by the Security Council to supervise an uneasy cease fire between the new state of Israel and its Arab neighbors. His first peacekeeping mission was an experiment never envisaged by the founders of the United Nations.

COAS's Speech

"There is no question that as UN peacekeeping continues to evolve, so will the training needs of UN peacekeepers. Hence, peacekeeping training should have a systematic approach in order to develop training standards, policies, guidance and best practices for the trainers. Only the outcome of such training can help to meet the mission requirements."
