Ex “Shanti Bhumi” conducted to S.N. 4 Higher Command and Management Course (HCMC)

S.N.4 Higher Command and Management Course (HCMC), conducted by Army War College, Nagarkot, visited Birendra Peace Operations Training Center on 31 May 2017. Ex " shanti Bhumi " ,a two days long UN peace Keeping Operations exercise based on table process right from start up of mission to its termination at strategic level (UN HQ) and Operational level (Mission HQ ) along with task and responsibilities of various departments and personnel during this entire process were discussed.

This exercise also discussed the various agreements and documents i.e. SOFA, MOU, UNPCRS system, role of FGS, note verbal and letter of assist etc.

This two days long exercise was conducted by commandant of BPOTC, Col Prayog JB Rana and was attended by Chief Instructor of course, Major General Sarad Giri, Senior Instructor Brigadier General Sameer shahi and Senior DS Brigadier General Balkrishna Karki.

"There is no question that as UN peacekeeping continues to evolve, so will the training needs of UN peacekeepers. Hence, peacekeeping training should have a systematic approach in order to develop training standards, policies, guidance and best practices for the trainers. Only the outcome of such training can help to meet the mission requirements."
