Opening Ceremony of Shree Barakh Bn,NepBatt 59 (UNIFIL) and Shree Siddibox Bn NepBatt 24(UNMISS) Pre-deployment Training

The official opening of the Pre-deployment Training (PDT) of Shree Barakh Bn,NepBatt 59 (UNIFIl) and Shree Siddibox Bn,NepBatt 24 (UNMISS) was held at Birendra Peace Operation Training center(BPOTC) on 26th May 2017.The Pre-deployment Training was formally inaugurated by Director, Directorate General of Peace Keeping Operation (DPKO),Brig Gen Damodar Thapa. Training includes the Combat fitness training,weapon Training, Basic Tactics, Lane training (Patrol, Convoy Protection, Designated Site duty, Distribution site Security,Check Point and Cordon and search),Mission specific training and Command post Exercise (CPX) and Peace Keeping Operation (PKO) packages. In addition to that ,The situation tactical Incident Report (STIR) training will be conducted to troops from Barakh Bn(UNIFIL).

Speech on 50th anniversary

Sixty years ago, a small group of international military observers were dispatched by the Security Council to supervise an uneasy cease fire between the new state of Israel and its Arab neighbors. His first peacekeeping mission was an experiment never envisaged by the founders of the United Nations.

COAS's Speech

"There is no question that as UN peacekeeping continues to evolve, so will the training needs of UN peacekeepers. Hence, peacekeeping training should have a systematic approach in order to develop training standards, policies, guidance and best practices for the trainers. Only the outcome of such training can help to meet the mission requirements."
