ICRC Course For Nepali Army Peacekeepers

The ICRC Mission in Kathmandu conducted a two-day package on “ICRC Course” for Nepali Army Peacekeepers from 18 -19 Nov 2019. Altogether 40 student officers selected for different UN missions attended the course. The ICRC package was integrated in the pre-deployment training conducted here at BPOTC to have better understanding on Law of Armed Conflict as well as ICRC roles in maintaining international peace.

Head of ICRC Mission in Kathmandu; Regional Delegation to the Armed Forces, ICRC Islamabad; Deputy-Head of Regional Delegation, New Delhi; Legal Advisor of Regional Delegation, New Delhi; Head of Communication Department ICRC, Nepal were in the ICRC Delegation Team.

UNDPKO recognizes the PDT and UN Staff Officers Course Conducted in BPOTC

The United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations has recently verified and provided the Training Recognition to the Contingent Pre-deployment Training and United Nations Staffs Officers Course conducted by the BPOTC.

COAS's Speech

"There is no question that as UN peacekeeping continues to evolve, so will the training needs of UN peacekeepers. Hence, peacekeeping training should have a systematic approach in order to develop training standards, policies, guidance and best practices for the trainers. Only the outcome of such training can help to meet the mission requirements."
